After Joshua and the Israelite army defeated the kings that came against Gibeon they continued to go through the Promised Land conquering it. At one point another group of kings mounted a huge army that the Bible says numbered like the sands of the seashore. But God continued to give His people victory. Because Joshua and the army he led continued to follow God’s plan they continued to be victorious until the Bible says in Joshua 11:23 that they had taken the whole land. Then Joshua divided the land among the tribes and the land rested from war.
Sometimes everything falls into place and goes smoothly. The conquering of the land was that way for the Israelites because they were following God’s will for them. When we follow God’s plan things tend to go smoothly, it is when we start doing things our own way that the problems start. We need to be like the Israelites when they were conquering the land and follow God’s plan. Life is much better that way!
