After Cain killed Abel he was cursed and roamed the Earth. Genesis 4:16-24 tells of the family he had. Adam and Eve must have been devastated that one son was dead and the other was cursed! How hard this must have been, but then God blessed them with another son, Seth. In Genesis 4:26 the Bible tells us that Seth's family began to call on the name of the Lord. This means they began to follow God and do His will. In Genesis 5:1-32 we are told of the Godly descendants of Seth all the way to Noah. The Bible indicates that Seth passed down from generation to generation a love for the Lord. Among his descendants were Methuselah who lived the longest of any man 969 years. And Enoch who is said to have walked with God and then God just took him. Which means he went to heaven without dying. Just because your parents are Godly doesn't mean you get a free pass to godliness. However, it does give you a huge advantage of an example to follow and learn from. If you have been blessed with Godly parents, thank God and honor them. If not, pray for them, honor them and look for other Godly adults for guidance.
